I don't mean to brag...

BUT... (my son is Andrew).  Oh, and please click here for added perspective on this situation.

Don't you just love that guy's white tie in the background?

Come on! No one likes this one? This is my first pinewood derby car and we won!!!! How about some congratulations for the war widow's efforts?

First, congratulations!
Second, I only just saw this post, so have a little patience.
Third, didn't we all ooh and ahh sufficiently when you finished the car? And is winning not enough?

Maybe not. Here you go:

You are an amazing cub scout mother! I am SO impressed that you did such a great contractor job on the pinewood derby car. Not only did it look FABULOUS--I mean, what a tank!--but the car also WON! Nice job! Andrew is the luckiest cub scout ever! Go Mom!

Sorry. Patience was never my strong point.

In spite of teasing you about the begging, I sincerely do think you're fabulous. Those derby cars are a LOT of work! Good job, Kelly!

Amen! Way to get the gold! You ARE amazing! Your kids are so, so lucky! My husband even gave an approving nod when I showed him the pic of the finished tank! Now that's better than winning! (I assume the tank will have it's own special place of WOW complete with toil and labor memories.) Good job!

It was just pointed out to me (by my husband) that he shakes hands with the 2nd place kid at the end of this video. Something I completely missed. What a sweet kid! If I do say so myself : )

Okay, so you disproved my theory that the ugliest car always wins-- the tank looked good AND was fast. Good job!
